Veterinary Nurse

Grade 4 Student Nurse £22,681- £25,138 per annum on a 9-month Fixed Term contract. Should you gain your RCVS qualification within 6-9 months of your appointment, there will be an opportunity to move to Grade 5 on an open-ended basis.

Grade 5 RVN £25,138- £29, 605 per annum on an open-ended contract.  (plus 6% shift allowance for weekend working) or (plus a 33% shift allowance for OOH working)

 

Are you an experienced RVN or a newly/ about to be qualified Nurse looking for a new and exciting challenge? Do you want to experience all aspects of Veterinary Nursing under one roof? 

The Small Animal Hospital is looking for up to 4 dedicated nurses to join our ever-expanding hospital team. The role will suit a motivated individual looking to utilise their clinical skills to deliver exceptional nursing care to patients. 

We currently have Day and Out of hours rotating nurse positions available. We would consider student nurses who have just sat their final OSCES and awaiting their results.

Day Nurse (3 positions): Rotations will include surgical, medical & feline wards, theatre complex (including anaesthesia), oncology, ICU and working alongside our clinicians & nurses in the receiving services (Surgery, Neurology & Internal Medicine). Working week is Monday-Friday 35hrs per week weekends 1 in 4 with days off for this. Participation on the Bank Holiday rota is required (additional payment given)

OOH Nurse (1 position): You will work alongside our dedicated vets, nurses & care assistants delivering excellent patient care in our fast-paced state-of-the-art hospital. There is an opportunity to rotate through a variety of areas such as Medical & Surgical wards, Intensive Care, Theatre & anaesthesia working with both referral and primary care in-patients and emergencies. You will have the opportunity to utilise all your nursing skills and develop new ones. Previous referral experience would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.

This post is compressed hours shift pattern working 6 shifts (70 hours total) every two weeks as follows: Either 3 shifts on, 1 off, 3 shifts on and 7 shifts off or 2 shifts on, one off, 4 shifts on then 7 shifts off.
