Alderney is one of the most beautiful of the Channel islands and we have a truly unique opportunity for a second veterinary nurse who relishes responsibility and enjoys a challenge to join our team. Alderney has a population of about 2000 people, is a 45 minute flight from mainland UK, and is surrounded by beautiful beaches and has an incredible caring island community.
We are a charity practice providing a high level of veterinary care working with an experienced and dedicated veterinary surgeon in Guernsey who provides 24/7 support and fortnightly visits to the island. We are looking for a second veterinary nurse to join the practice who enjoys working in a small team but is also confident as a lone worker and happy to manage rare OOH responsibilities.
If you are bored with the daily routine of ops and consults, looking for an improved work-life balance, and are a confident problem solver, enjoy undertaking Schedule 3 procedures and thinking on your feet ....then this is the job for you. There is plenty of scope to shape the job to your strengths and interests and the shorter working hours ensure plenty of time to enjoy island life and the beaches.
Starting salary £27,500, for 4 short clinic days with flexible share of weekend on call, £500 annually towards CPD, RCVS registration fee paid, practice vehicle available for use, on site flat available for rental, 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, pension and discounted personal pet care.
