Job Description

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has excellent clinical standards and is a team player? If so, you could be just the person we are looking for!

We are looking for a part time RVN to join us on a permanent basis as part of a job share position for 3 days a week.

About us:

Abbey Vets is made up of a team of 12 RVNs and 3 SVNs across our practices in Abergavenny, Monmouth, Brecon and Tredegar. With 13 vets and 4 well equipped, RCVS accredited sites we provide a varied and interesting case load. Our Vet team includes certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine meaning we can provide excellent services to our patients and clients, and our nursing team experience an interesting and varied case load. 24-hour nursing at our main Abergavenny site also enables us to provide excellent clinical care to our patients.

The Role:

  • Part -time -3 days per week (job share) average of 23hrs per week
  • 6 week rolling rota including a week of 3 x night shifts and NO WEEKENDS
  • Role will mainly be based in Abergavenny, however, will also require some cover in our other branches of Tredegar, Brecon and Monmouth.

With excellent facilities and a fantastic team, you will be utilizing your nursing skills to promote high standards of clinical and client care alongside a supportive team. Confidence in assisting with routine operations, diagnostic imaging and nurse consultations is desired. Personal development is supported and encouraged. Previous sole charge nursing experience is an advantage, but not essential as training and support will be given.

 

The Rota:

You will take part in a rolling 6-week rota, working 3 days per week (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday) consisting of:

  • 1 week theatre (0830-1730)
  • 1 week kennels (0800-1700)
  • 1 week procedures (1000-1900)
  • 1 week consulting (0900-1830)
  • 1 week nights – inpatients only (1800-0830)
  • 1 week off

Our OOH is outsourced, but we keep our own inpatients from Monday 9am – Saturday 6pm to ensure continuity of care for our patients.
