Role Summary

 

Looking for a way to support future generations of veterinary nurses?

We have an opportunity for registered veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons to join our team of Level 3 Veterinary Nursing End Point Assessors. 

This work will be on an ad hoc basis and booked as we require assessors, ideally tailored to fit in with existing employment.

It’s a great chance to contribute to the training of veterinary nursing students as they start their journey in the veterinary profession.

  

Principal Areas of Responsibility

  • To be available for a minimum of 4 End Point Assessment days each year
  • To work from our offices in Elmswell, Suffolk IP30 9HR
  • To have experience with Veterinary Nursing syllabus
  • Remain current with CQ products, services, policies and procedures and be able to apply all in the context of EPA
  • Remain current with regulatory requirements (RCVS, Ofqual and QiW)

Overall Duties

  • Attend and undertake End Point Assessment when booked by CQ to be held in our Elmswell, Suffolk offices
  • Utilise the stated assessment methods to undertake assessment of the apprentice’s competence and knowledge against specific standards and plans
  • Ensure all activities are in line with CQ policies and procedures
  • Ensure a robust, valid, reliable and fair assessment process is delivered
  • Mark all components of the End Point Assessment in line with the grading criteria and guidelines
  • Undertake CQ training on a regular basis in order to standardise quality and consistency
  • Promote CQ values
  • Take an active role in all team activities to ensure full compliance with agreed safety, quality and environmental standards and expectations
  • Understand the CQ Data Protection Policy and Procedure and adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998 and subsequent GDPR

Skills

  • Professional qualification held for at least 3 years
  • Have an understanding of apprenticeships with the relevant occupational / industry standard and knowledge
  • Proficient IT skills to use MS Office software to be able to complete the documentation
  • Accuracy and attention to detail for completion of the documentation
  • Be able to prioritise, plan and organise your time for the day

Time Commitment

  • Assessment days will be booked with you for up to 7 students a day
  • Each professional discussion takes 45 minutes
  • Lunch break is unpaid and has to be taken for at least 30 minutes after 6 hours

The work of the EPA Team is highly sensitive and it is the responsibility of those working on assessments to ensure that the confidentiality of such is respected at all times.

All employees and contractors must agree to protect this information and therefore, the integrity of the organisation.

‘Confidential information’ means any information not generally known, that has been acquired by CQ, relating to the Awarding Organisation business, technology, services or products including any Centre and student material.
