Job Description

Rehabilitation Coordinator 
Full-Time | Upton, Chester 

Behavioural Referrals Veterinary Practice is a specialist referral centre dedicated to small animal behavioural medicine. Led by Practice Principal Sarah Heath BVSc PgCertVE DipECAWBM(BM) CCAB FRCVS, alongside a skilled team of veterinary surgeons and rehabilitation trainers, we provide tailored behavioural modification plans and ongoing support to clients across the UK. 

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Rehabilitation Coordinator to join our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about animal behaviour and client care to play a vital role in the day-to-day coordination of our rehabilitation services. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients following their pet’s initial consultation with our vets. 
  • Provide advice and support to clients (both for referral cases and puppies) via email and phone. 
  • Manage the rehabilitation & physiotherapy diary, including scheduling appointments and maintaining regular communication with clients throughout their care journey. 
  • Review and analyse client-submitted videos, providing feedback (full training will be provided). 
  • Carry out general administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice. 
  • Take part in a 1-in-7 out-of-hours rota to provide client advice by phone (no call-outs; and a vet is always second on-call for support). 
  • Taking minutes for the weekly clinical meeting  

Development Opportunities 

  • Shadow consultations with both our veterinary and rehabilitation teams to further your understanding of behaviour and emotional health in animals. 

Person Specification 

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Hold a BSc in Animal Behaviour (or equivalent qualification). 
  • Veterinary/ small animal background  
  • Possess a full UK driving licence. 
  • Be confident and compassionate when communicating with clients—both verbally and in writing. 
  • Be highly organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment. 
  • Be open-minded and adaptable, as each case may require a tailored approach. 

Working Hours 

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30–18:00 (full-time 42.5hrs)

Our practice specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of behavioural disorders, with the support of a skilled team of rehabilitation coaches and a veterinary physiotherapist.
