No it's not hot hands and it is Bouncyfi idea, but I am putting it up as it is a brilliant idea.
any fluids that have been used for flush , instead of binning them, inject food dye into them and use them as heat pads for your patients.

Whoops, sorry Sandra! I seem to have posted the same tip as you! I hadn't heard about the rice though, that's a good idea.
I like that idea to. May have to give the rice idea a go soon!
Or you can use an empty fluid bag, cut a small hole in it near the top and use a funnel to fill it with uncooked rice. Then suture the hole closed with Some sort of Nylon (supramid is good) and use as you would a wheat pack. They stay warm for ages and heat well in the microwave. Just make sure they are well closed so your patient doesnt get access to lots of uncooked rice!
