During a dental on a cat or dog the wow bandage tied to the et tube gets all minging,
Why dont you try a used drip line to tie in the et tube. It's easily washed down during the dental, it does not catch.
PS: Whilst you're here, take a moment to see our latest job opportunities for vet nurses.
i use giving set but i also cut a blood tube so i have 2 plastic circles which i then thread both ends of the giving set through one acts as a draw string toggle around the tube the other around the head holding it nicely in place. hope that makes sense not easy to explain but does work a treat and doesnt hold any nasty bacteria. (if a blood tube is too big try using a 1ml syringe cut in to sections.
We use elastic bands to secure all ET tubes. place around the muzzel of dogs and behind the head of cats as you would WOW. They are easyto clean and can be used again and again. just make sure its not too tight!
we tend to use string anyway for tying in et tubes,so not such an issue anyway. String is cheaper alternative to wow bandage too!
Does a drip line tie tight enought to hold an ET tube in place??
