VetSurgeon member Shailen Jasani MA VetMB MRCVS DipACVECC has launched the Ralph site (theralphsite.com), a website offering support and advice to those coping with pet bereavement.
The site contains forums, downloadable advice sheets, a directory of crematoria and cemeteries, and offers owners the ability to create a memorial for their pet.
The Ralph site was named after Shailen's own cat, which died after a car accident in 2010. Shailen funded the setup of the site, and it is a not-for-proft.
PS: Whilst you're here, take a moment to see our latest job opportunities for vet nurses.
Since its launch in July, The Ralph Site has seen a growing number of site visitors, memorials created and "likes" of its Facebook page. Some vet practices have requested flyers to give out to pet carers either at the time their pet is euthanased or in sympathy cards that are sent out. We would be very happy to send A5 flyers to anyone who would like some. Please email info@theralphsite.com with your postal address and a rough idea of how many you may need over a 12-month period; or use the Contact Us form on the site.
Many thanks,
Shailen/The Ralph Site
Nice website, will recommend it for our clients.
This is a great idea and I will be seeing if we can put a link from the surgery website to this. I don't think there is enough support for clients after losing their pets
Very nice and moving, these sites always make me cry tho.
