PS: Whilst you're here, take a moment to see our latest job opportunities for vet nurses.
I am a mature student nurse and have been in the veterinary industry for over nearly 8years. I feel that the above statement is a litlle on the bias side and that there are several reasons that vets and possibly nurses (including myself) dont feel the need to brush their dogs teeth is;-
1) They feed thier animals the correct diet,
2) They can give the appropriate toy, chew or mouth gel (ie Pet dent) on a regular basis ,
3) They CAN do their own dental checks with the knowledge of dealing with any problems immediately.
This is not to say that the benefits of brushing your dogs teeth are not valid but looking at the whole lifestyle of the animal is vitally important in battling dental disease.
