Rabbit Packs

Preventative healthcare is not limited to cats and dogs. The "Rabbit Pack" is specially designed for all rabbit owners and can be distributed at any rabbit consultation, be it with a veterinary surgeon or nurse.

Transparent plastic wallets are ideal for holding the information and samples and look very smart. Stickers with your own rabbit pack logo can easily be generated from any inkjet or laser printer and will create a nice finishing touch.

  • An information sheet explaining the importance of feeding your rabbit correctly. Many owners still feed a "rabbit mix" which tends to encourage selective feeding and therefore is not a balanced diet. An ideal diet should consist predominantly of grass and high quality meadow hay, with a small proportion of a complete pelleted food. Include photographs and prices of appropriate products such as Supreme Choice hay and Burgess Supa Rabbit. If you also stock bowls and water bottles, mention these too. If you don't stock rabbit merchandise - get some in!

  • A sample of Burgess Supa Rabbit complete diet. These are available from Burgess Excel subject to availability. If the company are out of stock, why not make your own using small grip-seal bags and home-made stickers generated easily on Microsoft Word. (The chapter entitled "Computer Skills, Record Keeping & Office Equipment" shows you how to make these in a few easy steps).

  • An information sheet explaining the dangers of fly-strike and how to prevent its occurrence. Include photographs and prices of appropriate products such as Advantage, hutch disinfectants and bedding. Again, if your practice do not stock these items - suggest that they start! Also include an Advantage Rabbit leaflet - available from Bayer.

  • "My Rabbit is a Supa Rabbit" badge - available free from Burgess Excel. Extremely naff, but much appreciated by children and many adults too!

  • "Russell & Gerty's Guide to Dangerous Plants" leaflet - available free from Supreme Petfoods. This company also supply badges and children's leaflets (but promote rabbit mixes, so don't include the feeding guides).

  • Privileged Pets Rabbit Club certificate . More for children than adults! Try designing your own and make it worthwhile by including a discount voucher for some selected rabbit products.
