INTRODUCTION

As with any new job, your first week can be daunting. Not only are there all the practice policies and rules to absorb, but often a frightening array of office equipment and gadgets to get to grip with.

Unfortunately, there are so many different makes of each different piece of equipment that this section could not possibly offer step-by-step instructions for them all. Rather, it is the aim of this chapter to offer a checklist of information that a receptionist may need to familiarise themselves with in order to do the job efficiently.
