Here at easipetcare Streatham we are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

The general day-to-day nursing duties will include; theatre work, medical nursing, nurse clinics, and helping with reception if there is a need. We will also support you in additional responsibilities such as Student Nurse training if this is an interest. You will work closely with the Head Nurse and rest of the nursing team and the Head Veterinary Surgeon to ensure that our core values are met.

We would welcome both Full Time and Part Time applicants. The Full-Time position would usually involve working 40 hours over 4 or 5 days per week. Our shifts are a combination of earlies from 8:00am – 4:30pm and lates from 11:00am – 7:30pm. It also involves one in three Saturday mornings and there is no OOH. We are very excited to be in the position of looking for another RVN to join our friendly and supportive clinical team.

We will consider full or part-applicants.

A full-time position with a 40 hour week, working hours will be a shift pattern consisting of an 8 hour working day, Monday to Friday between 8am-8pm plus 1:6 Saturday mornings, 8am – 4pm on a TOIL basis. There are no OOH shifts or Sundays. The role will involve working in our main surgeries located in Conon Bridge and Dingwall, with the occasional opportunity to work in our picturesque, smaller consulting branches in Fortrose, Ullapool and Gairloch. Nurses are involved with, consulting, surgery, diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, anaesthetics and in patient care. Nurses may also be involved with providing support for farm and equine care including xrays and endoscopy.

Recent graduates are very welcome and will be supported in the role, with further training as necessary. Previous experience working in a small animal practice is essential, mixed practice experience is a bonus, especially at lambing time!

Our ideal candidate would be a Clinical Supervisor but training is available.

We would expect the right candidate to have strong values, good communication skills and be a good team player with a positive attitude that is willing support their colleagues. We will support personal and clinical development. The practice proudly supports progression in your clinical interests, supporting in house training and CPD. We have in-house meetings and a regular clinical clubs to share CPD information and develop practice protocols.

About us:

Conanvet is a long established, independent, RCVS accredited mixed practice. Our main branches are located approximately 20 minutes north of Inverness in Conon Bridge and Dingwall.

We have a busy, varied & interesting caseload, with no two days at Conanvet being the same!! About the Role:

We are looking for a full time, experienced RVN for a varied role including inpatient care, procedures and nurse clinics.

We think differently to a lot of Veterinary Practices or employers. Our staff usually work at two of the Practices, but potentially all three of our sites when helping to cover holidays and sickness. This adds variety to the working week seeing different clients and working with a variety of colleagues. It also assists development of team spirit.

Ideally, we want someone for 39 hours per week core hours Monday to Friday plus 1:6 weekend mornings. Individual rotas are very flexible, taking into account people’s outside commitments or interests. We will find a rota which both works for you and provides the cover we need. Maximum shift length is 10.5 hours, with a 30-minute paid lunch break. Some staff work 4 days a week (3 slightly longer days and one short one), others prefer a split over 5 days.

Our commitment to our clients and pets means providing them services out of hours with our own team, in our own premises, and with access to their pet’s records. This is a huge benefit for our clients and their pets, but we believe also for our team’s experience development. The Leadership Team have an open-door policy for ideas, concerns or a chat. We have whole Practice meetings three times a year, where we shut all the sites and get together over lunch. Our Vets, Nurses, Eco and our Practice Development Team all have time to meet to check in, discuss clinical cases or plan projects. Our Christmas Parties are legendary and our first official Summer Social ’23 was a great day and will be making an annual appearance in the future. There are other events and activities which go on from cinema trips, dog walks and go-karting!

Our sites are spacious, fully equipped and purpose designed and built. Our latest expansion at Portishead completed in May 2022 and provided space for our CT scanner, exotic ward, additional laparoscopy theatre, and created a total of six consulting rooms plus more office space. We have our own in-house rehabilitation service hydro.vet, incorporating a physiotherapy room with therapeutic laser, and our hydrotherapy suite with underwater treadmill. About us

We are a small animal, independent practice in SW London. We are a hard-working and friendly team consisting of three vets and three RVNs (you would be covering the third RVN), one SQP and three VCAs nurse/support staff. Fully equipped practice with-in house MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiographs, dental radiographs and ultrasound. We do see some exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) but experience in this area is not essential.

Our usual day

One vet consults all day and the other does a mixture of consults and surgery. We have three to four procedures/surgeries booked each day. Two RVNs look after the surgery and medical patients, one support staff on reception and one support staff in the office answering phone calls/dealing with emails.

Wood Farm Vets is an independent rural mixed general practice serving the South Norfolk and North Suffolk area. We are seeking an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience of nursing all species. This role would suit a dynamic individual who is keen to expand, promote, and lead our ambulatory nursing services and nurse-led clinics across all species, under the support and guidance of the Nursing Manager. As such, a UK driving license and own transport is preferred. Wood Farm Vets is a listed Training Practice, and so a desire to perform a Clinical Coaching role is advantageous.

This permanent position is available immediately and will comprise a fixed shift rota of between 20 to 35 hours per week, worked over three to four days, dependent on the successful candidate’s preference. Participation in our on-call rota will be required (currently 1-in-4 weekends and 1 weeknight per week), for which you’ll receive either a retainer fee or reimbursed at an enhanced out-of-hours rate on the occasions you get called in. An internship is a 12–18-month fixed term position awarded to qualified veterinary surgeons (usually early career) who wish to explore becoming a Specialist by achieving a specialist qualification. This applies to both small animal and equine internships. The role is heavily supervised by more senior vets and has formal taught components. A 12-month internship rotating through different Specialties is a requirement to be eligible to apply for the next step in Specialist training -a residency.

Specialist training is via a three year residency followed by examination. The Specialist diplomas are awarded by either the European Board of Vet Specialists (EBVS) or the American equivalent and are recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in the UK. The curriculum is approved by the individual European colleges who sit under the EBVS, and the eligibility criteria for entering the training is also decided by the colleges, and includes a rotating internship.
